  Millimeter-wave radar is a sensing technology that uses ultra-high-frequency radio waves to detect objects with incredible precision.

  Unlike most other systems, which often get confused by reflections, glare, or splashes on water, millimeter-wave radar can overcome these challenges and provide reliable positioning, ensuring AQUA stays aware, responsive, and stable over water.

  Because flying on water demands extra durability and waterproofing, a foldable design would create weak points for water leakage, reduce structural strength, and add vibration risks that affect flight stability.

  No. AQUA’s lens is treated with a hydrophobic coating that significantly reduces water adhesion, helping droplets slide off instead of sticking to the surface.

• 5. Can I use AQUA if I have no prior piloting experience?

  Absolutely. AQUA is designed for beginners as well as pros. With the Lighthouse, you only need a single button press to launch and guide it. Once airborne, AQUA automatically tracks the subject and stabilizes its flight position, so you don’t need any professional piloting skills.

• 6. Can AQUA be used in non-water environments? What precautions should I take?

  Yes. While AQUA is purpose-built for water, it can also be used on land in open spaces. For best results, avoid flying in tight or cluttered environments such as woods, caves, or areas with many overhead obstacles. Please be aware of any local laws or regulations regarding drone usage.

• 7. What is the recommended environment for using AQUA?

  AQUA is designed primarily for open water environments such as lakes, oceans, and wide rivers, where GPS signals are clear and unobstructed. Building on this foundation, RTK technology further enhances positioning accuracy, enabling AQUA to maintain reliable tracking even in more complex settings like tree-lined waters or urban waterways.
  

  However, in environments with severe signal blockage, such as under bridges, performance may be limited, so open spaces are always recommended.

  Yes, you can. But please make sure the battery, battery connectors, and battery cavity stay completely dry before swapping.

• 10. What if I’m occluded by water? Can AQUA track me in this condition?

  Yes. AQUA is designed to track you even when you’re occluded by water, such as while surfing. As long as the connection between AQUA and the Lighthouse remains active and there’s a good GPS signal, AQUA can maintain precise tracking.

• 11. Can AQUA detect obstacles?

  HOVERAir products feature ShadowTrack - a unique tracking approach that precisely follows the user to avoid obstacles. They do not use active obstacle avoidance to fly around obstacles. It is the responsibility of the user to be aware of their surroundings and ensure safe operation.

• 12. How near can it fly to waves?

  AQUA can fly as close as 50 cm above the waves.

• 13. Is the battery waterproof?

  The battery is waterproof only when installed in AQUA.

  When removed, the battery itself is not waterproof. Avoid exposing the battery connector to water, and always ensure the connector is completely dry before inserting or removing the battery.

• 14. Will salt water cause corrosion? How should I care for my AQUA?

  AQUA is designed to withstand corrosion in its composite body material, titanium screws, stainless steel motors and more.

  However, it is still important to rinse your device with fresh water after usage in salt water to avoid long-term exposure to salt.
